Governor's visit with Quota San Jose
From Left seated: Jean Blackburn, Barbara Nilsin, President Mary Flores
From Left standing: Barbara Rogers, Liz Tadman, Governor Donna Austin, Ann Lindahl
The District 12 governor met with Quota International of San Jose at Chevy’s for lunch. A good time was had by all.
The Oktoberfest went off without a hitch thanks to Phyl Skov and her committee. The tables looked very nice decorated with festive pumpkins made at Laura Brown’s with the help of club members and boosters. There was dancing to the music of the Magnolia Jazz Band, AND the food was outstanding. The evening was lots of fun and if you missed it try to join us next October.
Our thanks to Shirlee Dolan, Q.I. of Alameda/Oakland for coming down and being with us. There were 50+ members and guest to make the evening a very successful event.
This weekend we had a marvelous meeting in Las Vegas for our West Area Convention.
Roberta Jorgensen and Pat Figueroa attended from Mountain View. Donna Austin and
April Winchester attended from Cupertino. Shirlee Dolan and Bernice Pryor…attended from Oakland/ Alameda.
It was an inspirational meeting. We met past presidents and future candidates. We heard new
things that Quota International had planned. It was a fun event and a good time was had by all!
On Sept. 10, Dist. 12 Lt. Governor Liz Tadman and Secretary Barbara Rogers attended the meeting of QI of Paso Robles where Dist. 33 Governor Mitzi Navarro gave her presentation. Mitzi’s remarks summarized the salient points admirably as she spoke to the discussion and decisions at Convention. She made the proceedings come alive again as we heard about Cynthia D’Amour and the effectiveness of lazy leaders. The hospitality of all the Paso Robles Quotarians was first-rate, the luncheon at the Paso Robles Golf Club delicious, and the drive enjoyable with Liz at the wheel and Barbara helping to astrogate.

Come join us for this fun celebration. Besides Quota, it also happens to be someone else’s birthday. It is a lady in red with a bronze medal.
Bess Whitaker receives the
bronze medal. Bess’s birthday
is on February 6th the same
birthday as Quota.
Our Quota District 12 Conference is set for April 16th, 2011
We will meet in the beautiful Cypress Hotel in Cupertino, CA
9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
All are welcome to join District 12 Conference and help us celebrate team building!
Our picnic was held August 8th at Cuesta Park in Mountain View. The picnic tables were decorated with colorful paper flowers to celebrate our Mexican Fiesta theme. We had approximately 80 people in attendance on a weather perfect day. Picnic chair, Becky Galioto and her committee worked very hard to provide wonderful food choice, raffle prizes and great fun. Thanks to our generous membership we were able to donate a hardy number of backpacks and school supplies to CSA for distribution to children in need.
