Report on 12th District’s Party for Quota International’s 91 Birthday

 February 6, 2010

The party was hosted by Quota International of Mountain View/Los Altos, February 6, 2010 at Ristorante Don Giovanni, in Mountain View, CA.

Greeting and hugs were had all around as old friends met. There were 35 members and guest present, with Governor Sarah Perez as Mistress of Ceremony.  She  introduced past governors, presidents and the parties committee.  Bess Whitaker, Past Governor, of Quota International of Cupertino’s also had a birthday.  Everyone sang happy birthday to her and some presented her with cards.

The decorations consisted of red and white balloons, red dollies with camellia and heart candies.  Each guest was given a birthday gift.  The beautiful cake was pink with white hearts and red roses.

Each club (4) brought a raffle gift and members brought silent auction gifts. After the cake was served tickets were drawn for the raffle baskets.

I believe the District will receive around $500 from the proceeds.

Melba Swanson, Chairman

P.S.  The photos I and Robby Jorgensen took have been posted on our website, www.quotad12.org.  Double click on them to enlarge them.  Please have patience with me while I learn this program.

Our guest speaker will be Jenna Graham, of the Mountain View Fir Department.  She will speak about the charity work the fire department does for the community, including theCreate a Smile Fund that we give to each year.  Jeanna is a dynamic young lady (she drives a fire truck) and will give a terrific talk, so come and bring your friends.

SAVE THE DATE…FEBRUARY 6,2010.  Oh yes, we know there is a big football game on the traditional Sunday of Quota’s Birthday celebration so we will do Saturday!  It is Mountain View/Los Altos’ turn this year and you will be hearing from them shortly.

December 10th, Quota of MV/LA enjoyed a lively evening at Don Giovanni’s for dinner, with  the members bringing PJ’s for our PJ’s for Tots Program to be given at the Community Services.

Santa supprised us all with a visit bringing gifts for everyone including PJ’s.   He then sat by the christmas tree for those who wish to have their pictures taken.  What fun the ladies had sitting on his lap.

Wishing you all of the best for the Holiday Season!

It is always busy this time of year but has been especially buzzing around the Perez household.  My oldest son Mike and his wife had a daughter, Ava Linh Perez, last Thursday…beautiful baby!  My son David’s family with the other 2 grand-daughters, ages 2 & 4, are anxiously awaiting Santa!  And my Daughter Anna is flying in from New York on Christmas Eve!  These are precious days for us.  At each stage of our family life our days have been precious to us and I wish you all precious days with your families.

On a Quota note…I will be visiting Monterey after the Holidays.  I want all of the Presidents to urge the Clubs to check the web site often.  It will be the main form of communication.  The other form will be Facebook.  I have set up a Facebook Page for the District.  First if you would please join Facebook (voluntary only) and we will go from there.

Please have a safe Holiday Season and a Healthy and Happy New Year!
